Why give a ship away?

One of the values of Youth With A Mission is generosity. I understand giving my tithe or tenth of my wages to a charity or a church but a ship?

Exactly my thoughts! In 2006... God inspired the Board of Marine Reach New Zealand to give away thier prize possession to YWAM Marine Reach Australia. After 4 years of planning and praying the ship arrived the shores of Australia in early February in the Port of Newcastle, NSW and begun its 16 port tour of Australia.

Many of our supporters and friends whay give away a perfectly working ship. This paradox of giving and receiving can only be realised by understanding the prize that was paid by God as mentioned in John 3:16, "For God so love the world that He gave....".

Our desire is to release a fleet of ships around the world and our vision is to see 4 four ships operating in the Pacific Rim by 2020. The ultimate purpose is to meet the medical & the physical needs of the liquid continent by offering life changing surgeries such as Ophthalmology, Dentistry, Optometry and primary health care.

After the 16 port tour of Australia, our ship the Pacific Link will head for PNG and serve its people and its isolated areas with this life giving help.

Construction teams and our Discipleship Training Schools (http://www.mrmdts.org/) will paritipate in this Christian Humanitarian endeavour.

It does not end there we will also have land based teams from New Zealand, Fiji and Philippines working togather as a regional group serving in these areas to maximize our efforts in the region.

Are you interested in changing your life and others in the process? Then get your feet wet and taking the plunge and going deep in God by joining our YWAM DTS Marine Reach and come to New Zealand for 5 months or more.

God may not ask you to give a ship away but maybe its your turn to give something back a bit of your time and your hands and be God's heart to the nations....
